Former President John Dramani Mahama has called in the police service to immediately apprehend the perpetrators of the shooting incident that occurred at the National Democratic Congress (NDC) regional headquarters in Kumasi.
One person died with another sustaining serious injuries after men seen on motorbikes wielding weapons including guns fired sporadically into a meeting at the office.
Mr Mahama has described as criminal the incident and called for immediate prosecution.
The former president in a Facebook post said: “I have just been briefed about a shooting incident that occurred in front of the Ashanti Regional Office of the NDC leading to the death of one person and injury to another.
I strongly condemn this incident. It is clearly a criminal act, and I call on the police and relevant security agencies to investigate, immediately apprehend the culprits and subject them to the full rigours of the law”
