A Nation Builders Corps (NABCo) beneficiary (name withheld) has disclosed on Rainbow Radio 87.5Fm that, beneficiaries are being victimised over their agitations over delayed and unpaid arrears.
The beneficiary told Kwabena Agyapong on Frontline some beneficiaries who have complained about their unpaid arrears have been slammed, humiliated, insulted and attacked.
He said they have been treated unfairly and any attempt to complain about their unpaid arrears have led to a WhatsApp page developed for NABCo beneficiaries shutdown.
He has asked authorities to release the arrears so beneficiaries would be able to fend for themselves and their families.
The victimisation he said has prevented beneficiaries from voicing out their frustration to the media.
On Monday, a group NABCo recruits protested the delay in payment of their allowances.
The group who earlier massed up at the NABCo secretariat met with officials to resolve the challenges with regards to the payment of their allowances.
In January 2019, some NABCo recruits complained that they had not received their allowances since the program begun.
The Minister for Information, Kojo Oppong Nkrumah said the delay in the payment was due to inaccurate data on the payroll.
