The opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) is holding President Akufo-Addo responsible for the firing of gunshots and attacks on their agents and supporters at some polling stations in the ongoing Ayawaso West Wuogon constituency by-election.
National Chairman, Mr Samuel Ofosu Ampofo at an emergency press conference said, the party had no option than to blame the president for the attacks.
He told the media their MP for Ningo Prampram, Sam George, was brutalised by thugs of the NPP in police and security uniforms.
According to him, because the party cannot guarantee the safety and security of the agents and members, they have asked them to withdraw from all the polling stations.
He claimed that six persons are currently in a critical condition at the hospital.
The candidate for the party, Delali Akwasi Brempong had his residence ransacked with guns, he alleged.
The chairman has led leadership of the party to meet with the IGP. They will later move to the EC’s office.
