National Organizer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Joshua Hamidu Akqmba, says the difficulties we (Ghanaians) are encountering under President Akufo-Addo, was due to the evils that characterised his victory.
The politician told Kwabena Agyapong on Rainbow Radio 87.5Fm that, he does not believe the mantra used by President Akufo-Addo that the ‘Battle is the Lord’s’ as used in the 2016 campaign, was genuine.
He is wondering why someone who campaigned on such a mantra, is struggling to stabilise the economy.
For him, the battle has now become the battle of the devil because Nana Addo did not seek the face of God like he told Ghanaians hence the struggles and challenges we are encountering.
Ghana he noted is on a standstill and due to that, people are lamenting, walling and calling for the return of former President John Dramani Mahama.
The ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) he posited is living the glories and achievements of Mr Mahama because they failed have to initiate any developmental projects since they took over office.
NPP’s slogan during the elections was: ‘The battle is the LORD’s’.
During his inaugural address in 2017, the president stressed: “The battle is still the LORD’s as we try to build Ghana”.
Mr Akufo-Addo became the first candidate in opposition to beat an incumbent in elections in Ghana after polling 53.85 per cent of the total valid votes cast. Then President John Dramani Mahama polled 44.40 per cent.
