Family, friends and well wishers of the late Wasui, the man who was shot at the National Democratic Congress (NDC) Kumasi office on Monday, have stormed the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital (KATH) in demand of the mortal remains of their beloved family member.
The family are in demand of the body in order for them to bury him in line with Islamic beliefs but the hospital, has refused to hand over the body to the family.
The situation according to Rainbow Radio’s Kwabena Amoateng, has generated confusion at the hospital forcing police officers to be deployed to the hospital.
Kwabena. Amoateng told rainboradioonline.com that, the family are still demanding for the body and have refused to leave the facility until they receive the body.
Scores of residents and motor riders have also taken over the Sawaba junction waiting to pay their last respect to the deceased, he said.
In a related development, Yamoah Ponko, has been invited by the police to assist them with their investigations into the shooting incident which claimed a life and injured another on Monday after men seen on motorbikes, stormed the Kumasi office of the NDC, and started firing sporadically according to eyewitness account.
