The Minister of Interior Ambrose Dery has summoned the heads of the Police and Immigration Services over a clash between personnel from both services over the arrest of some suspected ‘sakawa’ boys at Sakaman in the Greater Accra region.
Some personnel from the Odorkor police command prevented Immigration officials from arresting some suspected internet fraudsters after an operation at Mcarthy Hills, a situation which resulted in the arrest of four Nigerians.
The police were reportedly acting on a distress call claiming some soldiers were terrorizing residents.
The police took custody of the suspects after claiming they could not verify the identity of the Immigration Service personnel.
Three out of the four suspects arrested were later freed from the custody of the Immigration Service.
