Former national team star Godwin Attram says it takes a lot of political manipulations for a player to be called to play for the senior national team.
He told Sokoohemaa Kukua on Rainbow Radio 87.5Fm that, individuals with vested interest choose which player or players to be called to join the national team.
He was recounting how he was dropped in 2006, a situation he decried nearly caused him his professional career because he had left Holland when he had not finalised a deal to come play for the national team because of how patriotic he was.
Godwin Attram said he became distraught but did not regret.
The loss of his place in the national team is one that amazes Attram up till this day, because, ‘’my family came to hate the team because of what happened to me.
