The Tourism, Creative Arts and Culture Minister, Catherine Afeku, has described the comments by actor Prince David Osei that the visitation by some Hollywood actors was useless as unfortunate.
The Minister told GH Entertainment the comments by the actor were not only unfortunate but has tarnished his image.
Speaking to Nana Adwoa Sarkodie of Citi TV, the actor said, “I want to find out if the Ministry of Tourism is behind the Hollywood stars coming to Ghana, being in the creative arts and coming from the creative arts, I didn’t see when we got to interact with the so-called Hollywood stars who came to town.”
But speaking on the matter with host Prince Kwesi Dadzie aka Mr Handsome, the Minister said, the actor has since said his comments were misconstrued and did not represent what he had said.
Madam Afeku said she has since advised the actor to clarify the issue since it is having negative impact on him as a practitioner.
The visitation she noted has sold Ghana to the entire world with all the major news portals in the world talking and repotting about Ghana.
The Minister made reference to the Ghana’s recent rating as 4th on the CNN’s list of perfect holiday destinations in the world.
This the minister was not surprising that the spotlight was on Ghana in December 2018, when top Hollywood stars including Boris Kodjoe, Idris Elba and top model Naomi Campbell among others, visited the country.
