Final rehearsal for the 62nd independence parade has ended in the Northern regional capital, Tamale.
However, concerns have been raised and Rainbow Radio can confirm that, the agitation was as a result of the wooden podium which the President, Nana Addo Dankwa Akuffo Addo will mount to deliver his independence day speech.
Residents in the areas have said, a metal podium will be a better choice than the wooden craft.
Meanwhile, investigations conducted by Rainbow Radio’s Prince Kwame Tamakloe, has confirmed that, the podium was weak and it is as a result of the wood used been fresh and still wet.
This, according to him has become the “talk of town” and generating so much displeasure among some citizens in the metropolis.
It could be recalled that, during the 2012 election campaign, the then New Patriotic Party’s flagbearer, Nana Akufo-Addo took a tumble when the stage on which he was addressing a crowd caved in at the Jubilee Park in Kumasi, Sunday.
Nana Addo was addressing thousands of party supporters at a rally when the incident occurred.
The incident happened around 18 hours GMT.
Other party leaders, including ex- president John Kufuor were on stage when the incident occurred.
No serious injuries were recorded, except that the rally had to come to an abrupt end.
