The defeat of Isaac the ‘Royal’ Dogbe has been the talk of the day after he failed to stop his Mexican opponent, Emmanuel Navarrate in USA for the second time in a row.
Former IBF welterweight Champion Joshua Clottey speaking in an interview with Isaac Worlanyo Wallace started emphatically that the problem and the reasons why Isaac lost the fight for the second time, should be left at the doorstep of his father.
He described Dogbe’s father who doubles as his trainers and coach as a selfish person.
According to him, the father failed to allow other persons to help him train how son.
He also described Dogbe’s father as disrespectful because he once denied him the opportunity to give Dogbe a talk during an ongoing fight at the boxing arena.
He said Dogbe’s father feels he knows everything about boxing.
When asked if Dogbe should change his father as coach he said the combination of Dogbe and his dad is a very good one because he (Dogbe) would listen to his father more than any other trainer.
Mexico’s Emmanuel Navarette defeated former World Champion, Isaac Dogboe in their rematch.
Coach Paul Dogboe threw in the towel to bring the fight to an abrupt end after Isaac failed to step up his game in round 12.
Final CompuBox numbers had Naverrete landing 314 of 884 total punches (35.5%) while Dogboe landed 121 of 523 total punches (23.1%).
Dogboe said he is considering a move up in weight to the 126-pound featherweight division.
“Right now, I’d like to let everyone be aware that the super bantamweight division is very challenging for me to make weight,” said Dogboe, 24.
“My next fight will be at featherweight. I believe I will be much stronger at that weight. It’s a struggle to make 122.”
