Dancehall artiste Stonebwoy has been arrested by the Police over the gun incident on the VGMA stage Sunday dawn.
The artiste who won the dancehall artiste for the fifth time in a roll at the 2019 VGMAs, is currently at the Greater Accra regional command of the Police.
The police is currently on the man hunt for Shatta Wale over the same matter.
Stonebwoy pulled a gun on stage whilst receiving the Reggae Dancehall Artiste of the year at the 20th Vodafone Ghana Music Awards.
The confusion started when Shatta Wale and his militants rushed onto the stage when Stonebwoy was about to receive his award.
Afraid of what could happen, Stonebwoy quickly pulled out a gun.
He has since apologized for his action and had this to say: “I am really sorry for the incident that happened earlier on and I only had to react out of natural instincts because we all know how premeditative some people can be,” Stonebwoy apologised after picking another award for best collaboration.
He added: “We’ve seen on social media the threats and everything so we couldn’t come in unprepared because anything could have happened like you guys saw.”
“I come in peace and I go in peace and I apologise to the whole masses of Ghana that the Awards is going to continue. Thank you very much for supporting my music, for supporting everybody else’s music…by their deeds we have all seen,” Stonebwoy said.
