The Police Administration has described as false the publication about the rescue if three Takoradi kidnapped girls.
This was contained in a statement issues by the police on Wednesday.
The statement by the police said: “The attention of the Police Administration has been drawn to a Newspaper report in the Daily Guide edition of Wednesday April 24, 2019 titled “T’di Girls Rescued” and wish to state that the report is false and cannot be confirmed by the Police.”
Meanwhile, the police has assured families if the kidnapped first that it was committed to rescuing the kidnapped girls.
“The Police Administration is however assuring families of the kidnapped girls and the public that we are working tirelessly with partner agencies to rescue the kidnapped girls.”
The statement also indicated that the police has appointed a liaison to coordinate information between the families and the service.
“Police have assigned liaison officers in Takoradi to coordinate information between Police and the families of the kidnapped girls and encourage family leadership to cooperate with the assigned officers.”
The statement concluded by cautioning media outlets to be circumspect in their reportage.
“Journalists, Publishers, Editors and Producers are hereby reminded to desist from publishing news without verification from authorized Police sources.”
