The NDC will resist any form of intimidation against National Chairman-Lawyer Adawudu

Lawyer K. Adawudu, a member of the legal team of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) has stated without provocation Mr. Samuel Ofosu Ampofo Chairman of the party will make himself available to the Criminal Investigation Department if there is a bench warrant from the law court.

‘In a case where a fleet of police vehicles and officers are sent in a Rambo style to intimidate him before his arrest, that’s what as a party and per the constitution of the republic forbids’.

‘First, when the police produce the bench warrant for his arrest fine he would go with the police. The same law permits him to remain silent or talk to the police, he said.

He stated that Mr. Ofosu Ampofo’s earlier rejection to appear before the CID when he was invited was simply because he was in court over the same issue which they had invited him for.

Lawyer Adawudu also said when a court is presiding over a case, there should not be any other body allowed to sit over that same issue so we are guided by the rule of law and Mr. Ofosu Ampofo is a law-abiding citizen.

‘The police are very professional but there are few elements within the service whose actions tarnish the image of the service,’ he concluded.
