The National Democratic Congress (NDC) Member of Parliament for Bia East, has posited government does not have money to pay Nation Builders Corps (NABCo) beneficiaries hence the delays in the payment of arrears.
The legislator in an interview with Kwabena Agyapong on Rainbow Radio 87.5Fm said, government deceived Ghanaians on the NABCo policy and the reality has started dawning on them.
He said, the 100, 000 recruits, that were supposed to be employed was not achieved since not more than 46, and 000 persons were recruited under what he described as a politically motivated policy.
On Monday, a group NABCo recruits protested the delay in payment of their allowances.
The group who earlier massed up at the NABCo secretariat met with officials to resolve the challenges with regards to the payment of their allowances.
In January 2019, some NABCo recruits complained that they had not received their allowances since the program begun.
The Minister for Information, Kojo Oppong Nkrumah said the delay in the payment was due to inaccurate data on the payroll.
The MP further took his gun on Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia for remaining quite over the depreciation of the cedi and incompetence of the NPP saying, he [Bawumia] attacked the NDC and described it as incompetent but what do we see today? The incompetence of this government is unmatched.
Meanwhile, he has hinted of an expose by the Minority on a serious financial misappropriation under the leadership of Nana Addo.
The expose he noted will shock the entire nation.
