“Too Much Productive Time Being Wasted On Social Media ” – Koku Anyidoho

Immediate-past Deputy General Secretary of the NDC in-charge of Operations, and Founder/President of the Atta-Mills Institute (AMI), Mr. Koku Anyidoho, has stated that there must be an immediate revolutionary crusade for mindset transformation which will get Ghanians to go off all unproductive social media platforms which he considers to be time-wasting and inimical to the growth and development of the nation.

According to him, there are too many unproductive platforms which just eat up lots of valuable time hence his his call.

“Lots of the Youth are wasting all their productive time on social media and yet are complaining about unemployment. God has given all of us talents; and instead of investing valuable time grooming and shaping our talents through productive use of the brain, thr brain is just being wasted on social media. Social media has its good sides but too many people are allowing social media to control their lives and it is not helping the nation to grow.”

As a senior politician in the country, he is very worried at the way all kinds of WhatsApp platforms spring up on a daily basis and all that is done; is to circulate stale news and just be wishing people happy birthday.

Also, it is sad the way some of these WhatsApp platforms are just used to settle personal scores and hurl insults at supposed political opponents, he lamented.

Mr. Anyidoho said he was yet to come across a single platform that is being used to develop a strategy for self-help projects to create jobs and develop solid all-in-one solutions for nation-building.

“We seem to be waiting for the government to create jobs but the truth is told; no government anywhere in the world can employ all the workforce of a nation.”

He has also planned to roll out the Mindset Transformation Revolution, which is for the Atta Mills Institute to begin to join forces with like-minded groups and Individuals to drive a positive agenda that will give us the type of mindset that is making Rwanda become a model fast-paced developing country in Africa and the world.

“We must re-orient the mindset/psyche of the country if we really want to build a Better Ghana. We will no longer have a gun revolution for national development: henceforth, we shall have a Mindset Transformation Revolution because the human mind is more powerful and potent than any weapon of warfare. Once we transform our Mindset, the nation-building revolution will take us off into higher heights.”

He said Ghana should no longer use the gun regulation to change the political ills in the country but rather use a mindset of transformational revolution
