We’ve paid part of arrears owed referees & partnering FIFA to give them professional training-Normalisation Committee


Spokesperson for the normalization committee of the Ghana Football Association (GFA) Dan Kweku Yeboah, has revealed to Rainbow Sports that the normalization committee has written a letter to FIFA to assist Ghana to  train its referees before the tournament for the clubs takes off.

Dan Kweku Yeboah continued that FIFA have accepted to provide us with experts to train our referees on Morale, Ethics and other lessons to improve officiating in Ghana and therefore we should expect the FIFA delegation from 20thto the 21st of January 2019.

Meanwhile, the Referees Association of Ghana have threatened not to officiate the games of the special competition been organized by the Normalization committee due to unpaid salaries but according to Dan Kweku Yeboah, the normalization committee have issued a cheque of GHC523, 000 to the Referees Association of Ghana (RAG) as part payment of the arrears been owed them by the previous administration.

When asked about Egypt hosting the 2019 AFCON, he said, it doesn’t matter where the AFCON will be played. All we have to do is to prepare well ahead of the tournament.

The Ministry of Youth and Sports in collaboration with the normalization committee are working on the friendly matches for the senior national team and a location for their camping.

When quizzed about the 31st watch night service prophecy about Ghana not winning the AFCON this year, he said the Normalization committee is not a religious body, our duty is to bring development plans and lay the foundations to make Ghana football attractive again so let leave the prophecies for the religious bodies, he concluded.
