Students at the various colleges of agric will soon start receiving allowances, the Press Secretary at the Ministry of Agriculture, Issah Alhassan has disclosed.
He told host of ‘Akuafuo Mmere’, on Rainbow Radio 87.5Fm that, the allowances scrapped under former President John Dramani Mahama, would be restored.
He asked students to be rest assured because the needed arrangement has been done to see to the restoration of the allowances.
Students at the various colleges of agric had embarked on a series of demonstrations because of “the apparent disregard for Agric students across the country by the government’s.
The students justified their action and and said unlike the nurses and teachers, they weren’t guaranteed jobs and needed the allowances to survive.
But Issah Alhassan says the restoration of the allowances will soon take effect.
Meanwhile, he has also disclosed on the show some 3,000 extension officers would be given permanent employment to meet up the required number of officers needed.
