The Ministry of Inner Cities and Zongo Development Ghana has partnered the National Board for Small Scale Industries has organised a 5-day Zongo Cuisine training and workshop for food vendors in the Zongo communities in the Ayawaso East constituency.
The idea is to create prosperous, inclusive and sustainable developed inner and Zongo communities across the country so beneficiaries would be able to expand, brand their businesses with new innovations and knowledge.
The training was also replicated in other areas across the various regions.
In all, 500 persons benefited from the training at the Ayawaso East constituency.
Speaking at the workshop, Ms Kosi A Yankey, Executive Director of NBSSI said, the program was designed to upgrade the knowledge and skills of food vendors and caterers on how best they could package their meal and serve customer in a healthy manner.
Speaking on behalf of the Minister of Zongo Development, Communication Director of the ministry,Mr Seibik Bugri, said the workshop was started two weeks ago and based on the issue of standardisation.
He said they should be some level of standard among vendors who sell food on the various Zongo communities.
He also disclosed that the ministry would develop a catalogue of all the vendors and promote their activities through tourism so tourists who visit Ghana would find different locations for the best Ghanaian cuisines.
