Private legal practitioner lawyer Francis Xavier-Sosu has been officially declared as the Member of Parliament-elect for the Madina constituency.
The human rights lawyer defeated the incumbent MP Abubakar Saddiq Boniface.
Lawyer Xavier-Sosu polled 62,127 votes whereas the incumbent garnered 46, 985.
The candidate for GUM got 692 votes.
Rejected ballots were 599.
