The National Democratic Congress (NDC) Member of Parliament for Bia East constituency Richard Acheampong has waded into the claims of the rigging of the elections and inducement of voters.
The MP who was reelected on December 7, 2020, noted that the current administration used money to influence voters on election day and also forced the EC to manipulate the results.
According to him, there were cases in his constituency where voters were given mobile phones even in the full glare of electoral officers and security personnel.
He indicated the EC has been used by the government to subvert the will of the people, manipulate and padded the results in favour of President Akufo-Addo.
Speaking on Rainbow Radio 87.5Fm, he added that the NDC will use all legitimate means to challenge the stolen elections.
The will of the people he stated cannot be stolen when they have called for change.
He questioned why the EC will make a declaration and in 24 hours admit an error in the declaration saying it did not affect the entire results and percentage of the candidates.
The credibility of the polls he noted has been compromised and the EC must be ashamed of itself.
He further questioned why Mrs. Jean Mensa rushed in declaring the results when they were serious infractions over the results declared.
