Some traders who had their properties destroyed at Kantamanto market in a fire outbreak have told Rainbow Radio’s Nhyiraba Kwabena Asirifi that they had information before the 2020 election that the market would be set ablaze.
Speaking to our reporter from the scene, they said they have lost everything through the fire and would want the government to come to their aide.
The fire has gutted the sowing section of the Kantamanto market in Accra’s central business district.
The fire reportedly started around 10 pm on Tuesday, December 15, 2020.
But the traders alleged that it took the fire officers an hour to respond to their call after the fire started.
Meanwhile, the fire personnel has helped douse the fire that has so far destroyed many goods including clothes.
They stopped the blaze from spreading and are still trying to quench the blaze.
