The Electoral Commission (EC) has clarified that despite announcing a break for the holidays, senior staff would still be at post to engage with its stakeholders.
The EC has come under stacks for announcing to go on break today, Wednesday, December 23,2020 and resume January 19, 2020.
The critics were of the view that the decision by the EC in the face of the disputes in the general elections was not the best.
Some civil society groups even asked the EC to rescind its decision in going on break.
Following these concerns, the EC has updated the public saying the break will only benefit field officers.
According to the EC, the break is to ensure efficiency, while reducing staff and administrative costs.
