Christians nationwide have ushered in the year 2021 with a watch night service.
Churches across the country were filled to capacity with strict adherence to the covid-19 safety protocols.
Worshipers mostly clad in white sang songs of praise and worshipped God for granting them life and granting them an opportunity to see a new year.
They prayed and asked God to grant them the strength to go through the new year.
Worshippers were also admonished to seek God, pray, and commit their ways to the Lord for the new year to be successful.
At the Wesley Methodist Church, Palladium, Accra, Evangelist Dartey preached on the theme “Rising Above the Obstacles”.
She encouraged the congregation to trust in God and seek wisdom from him so they will be able to overcome their obstacles.
She said obedience to God will help them to rise above the obstacles.
The evangelist said a walk with God will lead to greatness and overcoming the obstacles.
She asked them to surrender to God and soar like eagles and let go of all the things that obstructed them in the year 2020.
For the International Central Gospel Church, it declared 2020 as the year of Excellence.
The General Overseer Pastor Mensa Otabil in his sermon said Excellence will be the hallmark of all that Ghanaians do.
“We will no longer accept mediocrity. We will no longer accept to be slaves”, he said.
