The Kasoa District Police Commander Superintendent Samuel Odame says the police is currently investigating the assault on National Democratic Congress (NDC) Secretary, Tuarik Amadu.
The commander said the victim has filed an official complaint and the police has commenced a probe into the matter.
Speaking on Nyankonton Mu Nsem on Rainbow Radio 87.5Fm, he assured the public the police will be professional in investigating the case and bring the offenders to book.
No arrests have been made so far, he disclosed after he was asked if the police has arrested any offender.
The NDC’s officer has insisted that the MP for the area Mavis Hawa Koomson ordered his guards to physically assault him.
He alleged that the MP paraded machomen made up of her security details and some members of the Invisible Forces thugs of the NPP to attack him.
Reacting the police commander said he would not want to say anything to undermine the investigation, adding as professional as we are, we will let the whole know the outcome.
