A former National Democratic Congress member of parliament for Techiman South Mr. Mensah Adjei has warned what happened during the 2020 elections in the constituency will not repeat itself again.
The former MP says they will not entertain the intimidation and any form of rigging again because the system we have today will give you no remedy should you be aggrieved.
To him, if you allow yourself to be cheated and run to the court, they will not rule in your favour.
Mr. Adjei told Kwabena Agyapong on Rainbow Radio 87.5Fm that they will be fully armed and prepare to face anyone who will attempt to repeat what happened in the constituency during the polls.
He opined that if the persons who rig the elections are aware that they will come and not meet their relatives, they will not rig elections again in Ghana.
”If you know that when you announce wrong results and you will come home and not meet your wife and children, you will think twice.”
He insisted that the results for the parliamentary election were rigged in favour of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) because no collation was done.
He slammed the EC accusing them of conniving with the government to subvert the will of the residents in the constituency.
The former MP warned they will not rest until the Techiman South parliamentary seat is handed over to the NDC.
He was worried the elected MP, Mr. Martin Adjei Mensah-Korsah is going to be sworn-in despite being the loser.
To those who always tell the NDC to go to court, he described them as shallow minded persons.
”Why should we use state security to intimidate and kill people like fowls? This is pure wickedness. You kill people like fowls because of your quest for power. If these are the happenings then I fear for Ghana in the coming years. We have so-called men of God asking us to go to court. If the people’s anger grows to that extent, we shall see you will be safer in this country.”
Meanwhile, a Wenchi High Court presided over by Justice Frederick Arnold W. K Nawurah, on Tuesday struck out an interim injunction application seeking to restrain Techiman South Member of Parliament (MP) elect, Martin Adjei Mensah Korsah, from being sworn in on Wednesday, January 6, 2021.
It awarded GH₵15,000 as a cost against Christopher Bayere, the Petitioner.
The candidate of the NDC went to court seeking to restrain Adjei Mensah Korsah, from presenting himself to be sworn in as Member of Parliament, as well as to stop the clerk of Parliament from admitting him into the records of Parliament.
