January 8, 2021

Founder and Chief Executive Officer of the Atta-Mills Institute Koku Anyidoho, has stated that Speaker Alban Bagbin is not only a firm person but someone who will apply the rules of the House to the latter.

Koku Anyidoho said the current had massive support from his side and some two votes from the NPP, and in his acceptance speech, he assured the House he will apply the rules of the House in his work.

He said the Speaker could have also boycotted the inauguration of the president because his side was not there, and if he wanted to be partisan, he would have followed them out.

”He came in and swore the president in. Prior to that, in his maiden statement as Speaker, he said he would l give the legislators some few months, and then he will apply the rules to the latter. What else do you want than a firm Speaker who will not compromise his integrity. He is the third most important person in Ghana.”

”He could have been rebellious and say he will not swear in the president and say he was following his party out of parliament. Did he do that?

He revealed some persons had no hope that Bagbin would win because they played ”chacha” with the choice of Bagbin.

The former Member of Parliament for Nadowli Kaleo, Alban Sumana Bagbin, was on Thursday, January 7, 2020, sworn-in as Speaker of the Eighth Parliament of the Republic of Ghana.

Alban Bagbin, a lawyer and career politician, was born on September 24, 1957, at Sombo in the Upper West Region of Ghana.

He is a graduate of the University of Ghana and the Ghana School of Law and also holds an Executive Masters in Governance and Leadership from the Ghana Institute of Management and Public Administration (GIMPA).

He has previously served as Majority Leader and Leader of the House.

Koku Anyidoho described him as an astute politician who has served his nation and parliament well.

He told Kwabena Agyapong on Frontline on Rainbow Radio 87.5Fm that Bagbin got support from the NPP because they know he is an objective person.
