Tafo-Pankrono MCE is corrupt, sold covid 19 eggs, sack him-Group

January 11, 2021

The New Patriotic Party (NPP) grassroots at Tafo-Pankrono constituency in the Ashanti region, have given the government a week ultimatum to terminate the appointment of their Municipal Chief Executive, Mr. Fred Obeng Owusu.

The group is alleging that the MCE is not competent, corrupt, and worked against the victory of the party during the 2020 polls.

Leader of the group, Mr Prempeh Boafo Tony, said they have consistently asked for the removal of the MCE but some top party officials are against this call.

He said the MCE has a poor working relationship and when job opportunities come for him to consider them, he allegedly sell these opportunities to other persons.

He is claiming that scholarship opportunities that also came to the area were sold by the MCE and has dared him to deny the allegations and he will expose him.

According to him, he has the evidence to support all the allegations they have leveled against the MCE.

He further alleged that the MCE during the lockdown period sold the items he was asked to distribute to the deprived in society.

“I have the evidence. We have some persons he took money from before giving them jobs and scholarships. He even sold eggs meant to be shared for free during the lockdown period.”

“We are by this statement adding to the voices of all other well meaning patriots of this constituency that Mr Fred Obeng Owusu must be sacked immediately for his diabolical and sinister agenda, since it has the magnitude to derail our progress going into future elections in the constituency”, he said.

He accused the MCE of not supporting the campaign of the party’s 2020 parliamentary candidate, Vincent Assafuah in the just ended elections.
