A communication team member of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC), Mr. Eric Sosu has insisted that the Member of Parliament for Tema West, Carlos Ahenkorah was asked to snatch ballot papers on January 7, 2021, when MPs were in the process of electing a Speaker.
Appearing on Frontline on Rainbow Radio 87.5Fm, he said the Suame MP was the one who instructed the MP to snatch the ballot papers.
He is therefore asking Ghanaians to disregard the explanation and denial by the MP in stating that he was not directed by the Leader of the NPP MPs to do what he did.
The Member of Parliament for Tema West, Carlos Kingsley Ahenkorah had explained that leader of New Patriotic Party MPs, Osei Kyei Mensah Bonsu did not coax him into snatching the ballots papers.
The Suame MP has been accused of instructing Mr. Ahenkorah to snatch the papers following a video in which Carlos was seen in an interaction with the Suame MP before snatching the papers.
But the Tema West MP denied the assertions saying: “I went to my leader to tell him that ‘leader they’ve finished counting the ballots of our nominee, 136. If we sit and allow them to establish the rest of the ballots it will be a completed election. I don’t want them to finish the counting, do something’,” he said.
But reacting, Mr. Sosu says the legislator acted based on the instruction by Osei Kyei Mensah Bonsu.
