A communication team member of the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP), Bismark Boateng is claiming that the chaotic scenes seen in parliament last week were deliberate.
He says the agenda was set by the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) to prevent the swearing-in of President Akufo-Addo.
He said they saw the number of dignitaries that arrived in the country for the ceremony hence wanted to embarrass the president.
Speaking on Frontline on Rainbow Radio 87.5Fm, the NPP communicator indicated that the NPP saw the need to compromise.
He said the leadership of the NPP’s side had no reason to reject the proposal to have Rt. Hon. Alban Bagbin, elected as Speaker.
He also claimed that the chaotic scenes were something that the NDC prepared and trained their MPs for.
He said if the NPP had responded in the same manner as the NDC, it would have been dangerous.
What happened he noted was uncalled for and a possible recipe for a takeover of government.
The invasion of the military he added scared Ghanaians and should they have staged a coup, it would have been bad for the country.
