National Communication Director for Liberal Party of Ghana (LPG) Mr. Samuel Owusu Afriyie has posited that the late former President Jerry John Rawlings was a man of loyalty, integrity, and accountability.
He said the late Rawlings was not a saint but he exhibited some level of truth and discipline.
To him, the late military cum civilian ruler exerted some fear in the people in the bid to ensure sanity and respect for what was right.
Rawlings in his view showed that he was a selfless leader who loved his nation.
He asked God to grant him peaceful rest and prayed to God to grant the bereaved family hope and strength to go through this painful demise of their father.
On his part, a communicator of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Maestro Jibril described the death as painful.
The contributions of the late Rawlings he added will forever live till generations unborn.
He said, Rawlings, did his best for Ghana, helped in developing the nation, and has done so well.
He asked the NDC to preserve the legacy of Rawlings and be guided by his probity, accountability, and transparency principles.
