Educationist Mr. Samuel Ziggah has opined that the late former President Jerry John Rawlings must be credited for our constitutional rule and stable democracy.
Eulogizing the late military cum civilian ruler, he said Ghana attained constitutional rule through the efforts of Rawlings.
He argued that without Rawlings, we would not be having a constitution today.
He said although there were excesses recorded under his leadership, the positives were also evident for all to see.
The late Rawlings he noted took decisions that helped the country despite the negative effects some persons might have suffered.
He said the late Rawlings was accused of killing people but the question is, as soldiers, their guns were not meant to kill animals.
The contribution of Rawlings in the education sector he stated was unparalleled.
Mr. Ziggah said apart from the late Nkrumah, no president can compare their record in education to that of Rawlings.
To him, Rawlings led several reforms in the sector, championed technical and vocational education.
