The Supreme Court has adjourned sitting of the 2020 election petition to Friday 5, 2021.
This was after the court went on a recess to consider an application for the court to admit a witness from the petitioner in Chamber due to ill health.
Lead Counsel for the petitioner Lawyer Tsikata told the court that a witness on their side, relevant to the proceedings in court is suffering from some health complications.
This witness, according to Mr. Tsikata, if given the opportunity to file a witness statement, will help bring some pertinent evidence and facts to help make their case.
He made the request after his application to receive original copies of documents from the EC had been dismissed.
The lawyer explained that they had an additional witness to present, but the witness in question is currently suffering from an undisclosed illness and until recovery cannot file his witness statement.
He told the court the illness could not be disclosed to the open court though his colleagues on the other side had been informed accordingly.
The court went on recess to consider the request and only returned to adjourn the sitting without any further statements.
