Fifteen (15) Members of Parliament and 56 staff of Parliament have tested positive for Covid-19.
Following this, the Rt Hon Speaker Alban Sumana Bagbin has given a directive to parliament to sit twice a week from next week.
Addressing the August House, he stated that, reports from parliament medical centre reveals that, 227 members of Parliament subjected themselves to be tested whiles others conducted their test at private medical facilities.
He urged the rest of the 48 members to submit their results to the director of the Parliamentary medical centre.
Meanwhile, parliament has taken steps to test households of the 15 members of Parliament and 56 staff in order to advert reinfections.
According to Rt Hon Alban Sumana Bagbin, due to the situation, parliament will sit twice a week.
The days are Tuesdays and Thursdays.
He indicated that only members of Parliament and members of staff who are needed for the business of the house on those days will be allowed into the premises of Parliament from next week.
