A private legal practitioner Tachie Antiedu has noted that the unanimous ruling of the Supreme Court court in a case helps in understanding the court.
Such unanimous rulings he stated are clear and does not matter the outcome of any rulings.
He added that the court is even doing detailed work in their rulings because the panel is giving all the parties an opportunity to understand the reasons behind the decision they take.
He was responding to a question on the unanimous rulings delivered by the court in the ongoing election petition.
The lawyer and author said the justices have shown that they are unwilling to entertain anything outside the laws, being used to hear the matter.
He said the justices have not done anything that will bring doubts in their rulings neither have they cited any laws that are questionable in their rulings.
He said ”it is either the justices have made up their minds that they are not ready to go outside the laws. If the laws are clear, then let’s go and apply it”.
He added lawyer Tsatsu Tsikata sometimes attempt to expand the law, which is also important but it makes the work difficult. When there are clear rules, and you want the court to apply the constitutional functions, it some sense”.
He agreed it is important for the justices to depart since it helps the judicial system.
