The Suhum Municipal Health Director Dr. Fredrick Ofosu, says the directorate is currently embarking on a sensitisation exercise on the covid-19 vaccine.
He told Nyankonton Mu Nsem on Rainbow Radio 87.5Fm that several residents have resolved not to take the vaccine should the directorate receive their vaccines.
He said the exercise was important because it would help inform the residents about the benefits of the vaccines.
According to him, some have been misled that the vaccine will render men impotent, a piece of information he described as false and misleading.
He explained that the vaccines available are highly effective.
He said the deadly virus could have serious, life-threatening complications, and there is the need to get vaccinated to help reduce the complications.
He stressed the need for the wearing of face masks, and social distancing to help reduce your chance of being exposed to the virus or spreading it to others.
However, these measures are not enough. Vaccines will help break the chain of transmission, he indicated.
He said the combination of getting vaccinated and following the protocols to protect yourself and others will offer the best protection from COVID-19.
