President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has presented a list of appointees to the Council of State to be considered for ambassadorial roles in different countries across the globe.
The list sighted by this website has the former Minister of Local Government and Rural Development Hajia Alima Mahama, who has been named to head Ghana’s mission in Washington DC, United States of America.
A former Chief of Defence Staff Lt. Gen. (rtd) Obed Boamah Akwa, has been nominated High Commissioner to Egypt.
The nominees would head to the respective countries if approved.
Papa Owusu-Ankomah who served as the ambassador to the UK in the first term of the president has been retained.
Also, Alhaji Rashid Bawa will also continue to be in Abuja, Nigeria.
Meanwhile, former broadcaster with the state broadcaster, Francisca Ashietey-Odunton would be moving from Kenya to Turkey.
Former People’s National Convention (PNC) Presidential Candidate Dr Edward Nasigre Mahama would be replaced as Ambassador-at-Large by Michael Ofori-Atta.
