Deputy General Secretary of the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP), lawyer Obiri Boahen has described the controversial bigotry textbooks as stupid, nonsense.
He explained to Kwabena Agyapong on Frontline on Rainbow Radio 87.5Fm that this is not only divisive but a threat to national cohesion.
Ghanaians are outraged over portions of the textbook for primary schoolchildren which appears to denigrate Ewes and other tribes in the country.
”Excuse my language, this is stupidity and nonsense. We cannot accept this bigotry publication. Ghanaians must condemn it. I repeat, it is stupid, nonsense and divisive.”
”I have read and learned and I must state that this is not something we should accept as a people. We have every right to condemn these things,. It should not be entertained,” he added.
Badu Nkansah Publications has since apologised and has started recalling the controversial textbooks from the public domain.
