The Speaker of Parliament, Rt. Hon. Alban Sumana Kingsford Bagbin, has given Minister of Health Kwaku Agyemang-Manu two hours within which to appear before the House to answer a question.
This was after a question he was supposed to answer was advertised but was nowhere to be found.
The question was posed by Member of Parliament for Sefwi Akontombra Alex Djornobuah Tetteh.
The Speaker was not happy at the absence of the Minister and insisted he should appear before the House to answer the question.
He said the Minister was aware he was supposed to present himself before Parliament.
He described his absence as disrespectful and insulting to the House.
He added Minister must take Parliamentary business serious and if the Minister fail to appear, he will bear the consequences.
“I direct that the Minister appears before Parliament within two hours to answer the question. Failing to do so, the necessary consequences will apply.”
