Ablekuma Central New Patriotic Party’s youth organizer Isaac Asare has posited that the attacks on former President John Dramani for appointing some relatives under his administration were to appeal to the emotions of Ghanaians.
He was responding to the fallouts from the vetting of Ken Ofori-Atta where he admitted to having employed several of his staff from Databank and Enterprise Insurance to some institutions of the state.
Speaking on Frontline on Rainbow Radio 87.5Fm, he said there was nothing wrong if Ken Ofori-Atta has employed his trusted allies to work them.
He said if these persons are Ghanaians and qualified, then there was nothing wrong with it.
Akonoba as he is affectionately called said the competence of the individuals was important.
When his attention was drawn to the fact that former President John Dramani Mahama was attacked in a similar manner, he said that was a clear case of appealing to the emotions of voters.
He said what Ghanaians should think about is how trusted and competent the appointees are.
He asked Ghanaians to be objective and stop attacking the government for appointing competent people to work with.
According to him, he will never attack people for appointing their trusted friends and family if they are qualified for the positions.
