General Secretary of the Ghana Medical Association (GMA), Dr. Justice Yankson, has disputed assertions that the Covid-19 vaccine could cause impotence in men.
Speaking on Frontline on Rainbow Radio 87.5Fm, he said although in medicine you cannot dispute something like that, from what has gone on so far, never of that nature has been recorded.
Dr. Yankson was responding to a question on whether the vaccination could cause impotence in men.
He was optimistic that with the vast majority getting vaccinated, the chain for infection would break, and the immunity against the virus increased.
He said in medicine, we don’t say never because anything is possible. However, if someone should say he has experienced impotence by vaccinating, it would not be the dose but a condition that would demand an examination.
He said after the examination and it is established to be the vaccinating or not, there would be a solution to the problem.
”So far we have not encountered that extreme condition. If there are people going around with such claims, that is false because without the vaccine, and you contract the virus, it could tender you impotent.
He asked the public to disregard such unfounded claims and take the vaccine to protect themselves from the severe conditions of the virus.
