A surgeon at the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital, Dr. Ishmael Kyei, has advised men to seek early treatment for testicular cancer.
According to the medical officer, when detected early, the condition can easily be treated and cured.
He explained that testicular cancer is one of the cancers that can be treated and cured, as compared to breast cancer and other cancers.
He said testicular cancer occurs in the testicles (testes), which are located inside the scrotum.
”This type of cancer is highly treatable compared to other cancers even when the cancer is spread beyond the testicle”, he added.
Some of the signs and symptoms are a lump or enlargement in either testicle, a feeling of heaviness in the scrotum, a dull ache in the abdomen or groin, a sudden collection of fluid in the scrotum and pain or discomfort in a testicle or the scrotum.
He said when you see these symptoms, you have to see a doctor and seek early treatment.
