Information Minister has hinted at plans to restructure the Ghana News Agency (GNA).
The Minister says the process which has started will make the state institution more viable.
”A restructuring of the Ghana News Agency (GNA) has started in earnest to make the state media agency more viable. As part of my tour to various state-owned media bodies, I visited and interacted with staff of GNA.”
He made the remarks after visiting some state-owned media houses today, April 26, 2021.
The Minister in his remarks highlighted the need for the agency to carve a new niche.
He also announced that the agency now has financial clearance to recruit more staff and his readiness to ensure that the agency sees an increase in its budget allocations as I have always done.
The Minister was joined by the Chairman of the National Media Commission (NMC) and Members of the Parliamentary Select Committee on Communications.
