A young has escaped a near-death situation after some angry residents attempted to lynch him to death over allegations that he was gay at Bia East in the Western Region.
The angry residents claim the young man has lured several young persons in the community, a situation they say is an affront to their beliefs and culture.
An eyewitness, Abdul Rashid told Nyankonton Mu Nsem on Rainbow Radio 87.5Fm that some of the angry youth wielding knives, cutlasses and other offensive weapons attempted to lynch the young man.
But he managed to escape from them.
Abdul Rashid said the youth asked the young man not to return to the area or have himself to blame.
He said they have vowed to kill anyone caught engaging in such an act.
Some traditional leaders in the area have also cautioned the youth in the area not to engage in homosexuality.
