Health Minister Kwaku Agyeman-Manu has disclosed to journalists that three Ghanaian companies have presented proposals to the government for the manufacturing of Covid-19 vaccines locally.
According to the Minister, the companies have already prepared their factories for take-off, once the government approves their plan.
He, however, failed to disclose the names of these companies but added that there is a committee working with the companies to produce an action plan on how the country can develop and manufacture its vaccines.
The Minister said that the committee is chaired by Professor Kwabena Frimpong Boateng.
“There are about three or so local companies who have already started preparing factories for covid-19 in Ghana. The committee have visited one of them and I am yet to visit the other one. They have sent proposal to the committee and they are having serious engagement with the committee.”
