Three officials of the Christ Embassy Church have been charged for breaching Covid-19 protocols during a recent church event.
They have been charged with failure to comply with restrictions imposed contrary to Regulation 4 of the Imposition of Restrictions (coronavirus disease (Covid-19) pandemic) (No. 16) instrument, 2020 Executive Instrument (E.I.) 395 and Section 6 of the imposition of the restriction Act, 2020 (Act 1012).
This comes days after Ghanaians expressed outrage at the Church for breaching the restrictions on public gatherings to organize an event at the Fantasy Dome in Accra.
The Police arrested some leaders of the Church and the one who manages the Dome.
The manager of the facility has also been charged.
This website has gathered that the event saw in attendance some 10,000 members of the church.
Also, the Police say the managers of the Dome failed to inform the management of the Trade Fair Centre of the said programme as required.
The persons charged are to formally respond to the charges on Friday.
