The Member of Parliament for Assin Central Kennedy Agyapong has alleged that the killer of the late Ahmed Suale is a resident in Kumasi.
He claims that the alleged murderer is by the name of Ansu Gyeabvour.
The firebrand MP said the Police Service disclosed the name of the suspect to him and founds it troubling that they have refused to tell the public about their findings.
The MP, who was furious, said he had been accused of killing the late journalist hence he is so angry that the Police is keeping the information to their chest without updating Ghanaians.
He was speaking to Adinkra TV in New York.
Mr. Kennedy Agyapong told the host he cannot stay away from the case because his reputation was at stake.
The MP further alleged that the suspect always escapes from attempted arrest by the Police.
He said anything they get his location to arrest him, he is informed and then he runs away.
He noted that the Police had also received forensic reports from the US on the matter and yet, they have refused to update Ghanaians on it.
In a recent interview, Kennedy Agyapong threatened to name the killers of the late journalist should the Police fail to do it.
To him, the Police have not been proactive in dealing with the matter.
The family of the deceased journalist had complained that they were unhappy with the delay in the ongoing investigations into the murder of their relative.
A brother of the deceased, Mustapha Iddrisu in, an interview a few weeks ago, said the police have failed to provide proper updates on the level investigations conducted into the case, two years after the gruesome killing.
“The investigations so far as the family is concerned has not been what we are expecting. We’re not even sure whether the police are actually doing conducting investigations or they are doing anything about it,” he said.
