The Central Regional party of the NPP was thrown into a complete state of shock and disbelief when an MCE aspirant arrived for vetting in a convoy of four luxurious vehicles lead by a police motorcade.
The candidate who disregarded the regional party’s directive that no aspirant was to attend the vetting of MMDCEs’ without supporters, arrived in an arrogant style with machomen bearing offensive weapons.
The Aspirant, Anita Kukua Amissah, was lead by Ato Koomson, the son of Hon. Mavis Hawa Koomson, MP for Awutu/Senya East, Kasoa.
The convoy specifically consisted of a siren bearing civilian Toyota Hilux pickup, two Nissan Urvan buses and a branch new Toyota V8 Land cruiser, all lead by the police motorcade ridden by a uniformed police officer.
Party members asked in dismay if such actions would not amount to sending the party into an early opposition.
Our investigations showed that the siren bearing ash-coloured Toyota Hilux Pickup is the private vehicle of Ato Koomson; the two white Nissan Urvans are MASLOC vehicles, and the V8 Land cruiser belongs to the Koomson family.
Others have opined that the ruling party needs to warn its members of such unwarranted show of opulence since such is likely to send the party into an early opposition.
