We’ve accepted your resignation but your reasons are spurious-NDC to Atubiga

May 26, 2021

The opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) has accepted the resignation of its former member Stephen Atubiga.

The party accepted his resignation at a lengthy functional executive meeting, a statement signed by Johnson Asiedu Nketiah has disclosed.

The party commended him for his sacrifices rendered to the umbrella family.

Mr. Atubiga in his resignation letter had stated that after careful consultations with other disenchanted members of the Party, “we have collectively decided to split from the NDC to form another Social Democratic Party.”

He explained in his letter that the resignation was in“furtherance of the true ideology of the late President Jerry John Rawlings and his principles of probity and accountability which the current NDC party departed from years ago.”

“They no longer respect the rights of their voters to hold them accountable for their glaringly incompetent, compromised, parochial personal interests and lousy leadership both in power and in opposition.

“They are now a dangerous bunch of tyrants viciously refusing to answer legitimate questions in respect of their stinking stewardship culminating in this shameful, painful and avoidable 2020 electoral defeat.”

But the NDC described his reasons for resigning as unfounded and spurious.

The party also stated that the NDC, by this action, has not accepted the reasons he outlined in his resignation letter.

Atubiga reacting to the decision by FEC wrote on Facebook saying:

”The leader and founder of the national liberation Congress party, has finally received his divorce letter from the NDC.

The joy from his confirmed divorce is showing all over his face.
Let’s keep praying for him. Something must always kill a man or give him victory. Only God has the final say.”
