Adedenkpo robbery: Family of killed trader relocates for fear of being killed

The family of the trader who was shot and killed by armed robbers at Adedenkpo, Accra has relocated from the area.

Rainbow Radio’s Nhyiraba Kwabena Asirifi reported from the scene saying the widower and children of the late trader have moved out of the community.

He said the bereaved family moved out because they feared being killed by the armed men who attacked the bullion van yesterday.

Our reporter indicated that the incident has created fear and panic among the residents in the area.

They want the police to intensify patrols in the area to avert another incident, he reported.

The residents he added are pained by the death of the trader and the Police officer and have also threatened to unleash mayhem on any criminal arrested in the area.

The situational report by the Police says the perpetrators made away with the AK 47 rifle of the police officer shot dead.

The robbers also took away an unspecified amount of money from the van.

The Inspector-General of Police, James Oppong-Boanuh, has directed the Director-General of the Criminal Investigations Department of the Ghana Police Service to take over investigations.

Meanwhile, persons with any information on the incident have been asked to volunteer them to the investigation team on 0262122086, 0244994564, or 0244280001.
