After he was swept away by floodwater on Tuesday, baby boy, Awal Mohammed, 2, has been found dead.
The child was travelling with his mother on a tricycle, popularly known as ‘Pragya’, but it got stuck.
The boy was carried away by the floodwater when the ‘Pragya’ attempted to continue the journey.
Meanwhile, two persons have been rescued after their car got stuck in Thursday’s heavy downpour in some parts of the Ashanti Region.
Responding to the story, the Ashanti Regional Coordinator of the National Disaster Management Organisation (NADMO), Kwabena Nsenkyire said he was informed that two individuals drowned.
He said: “So I had to rush down here, and fortunately the NADMO and the Fire Service has rescued them and tomorrow we are gonna come and pull their car from the water.”
“We haven’t finished the Tuesday night downpour assessment yet, we are on it, and today there was heavy downpour too which is as much as twice of what happened Tuesday night, so we are on assessment.”
